Children and Minors Policy

1.Why this document exists§

An app used by children is judged by what it makes impossible, not by what it promises. This document states the impossibilities, so a parent can read them in five minutes and a municipality can attach them to a file.

2.Age and who may take part§

FND is used inside organized groups: camps, schools, hotels running youth programmes. A participant exists only because a partner organization verified them on site.

1. 2.1There is no public registration. A person cannot create an FND account for themselves and find a camp.
2. 2.2The organization decides who it verifies and is responsible for the age range it admits.
3. 2.3Where a participant is below the age of digital consent in their country, which in Belgium is 13, the legal basis for processing rests on the organization and the parental consent it holds.

3.Consent, and who collects it§

The organization is the controller for participant data, so consent is collected by the organization, not by us, as part of the paperwork a camp already sends to parents.

1. 3.1We provide ready text describing FND in plain language, in all four site languages, at /trust#consent, for an organization to paste into its own registration form.
2. 3.2A parent who refuses does not break the camp: a participant simply is not verified, and takes part in everything offline as before.
3. 3.3Consent can be withdrawn at any time by writing to the organization, which revokes the participant in the cabinet immediately.

4.No strangers, by construction§

The single biggest risk in an app for young people is contact from someone who should not be there. FND removes the pathway rather than policing it.

1. 4.1Access requires physical presence at the organization and verification by its staff.
2. 4.2There is no discovery: no search for people, no search for organizations, no public profiles, no friend requests from outside.
3. 4.3There is no visibility between organizations. Two camps using FND cannot see each other at all.
4. 4.4Leaving the organization revokes access automatically.

5.No live location of a child§

FND cannot answer "where is this child right now". The datum is not collected, so it cannot be shown to a parent, to staff, to us, or to anyone who obtains our database.

1. 5.1Presence comes from zone check-in events: a person was seen at a zone at a time.
2. 5.2Activity locations stay blurred to about 150 m until a participant joins.
3. 5.3The map shows activities, never people.

6.Who can talk to whom§

Conversation in FND belongs to an activity, not to a private channel between two people.

1. 6.1Messages live inside a meet, visible to the people in that meet and to the organization's staff.
2. 6.2There is no anonymous messaging and no pseudonymous identity: everyone in a world has been verified by the same staff.
3. 6.3Staff can see, moderate and remove any content in their own world.

7.Photos of minors§

Photos taken in a meet are visible only inside the verified organization that produced them.

1. 7.1Nothing is public, nothing is shareable outside the group, and no external link to an image exists.
2. 7.2We never use participant photos in marketing, in app-store screenshots, or on this website.
3. 7.3Deleting a meet or a participant deletes their photos in full cascade.

8.Reports and moderation§

Every participant can report content or a person. Reports go to the organization's own staff, who know the people involved.

1. 8.1Repeat reports restrict an account automatically, without waiting for a human decision.
2. 8.2A safety audit trail keeps 30 days of relevant events, so a pattern can be seen rather than guessed at.
3. 8.3We may act directly, including removing content and restricting accounts without notice, where a person appears to be at risk.

9.No advertising, no profiling, no engagement tricks§

The business model is a pass sold to an organization. Nothing in FND depends on a child spending more time in it.

1. 9.1No advertising, no advertising identifiers, no third-party analytics inside the app.
2. 9.2No profiling of minors, no recommendation engine trained on their behaviour, no model training on partner content.
3. 9.3No streaks, no infinite feed, no notification pressure engineered to pull a child back in. The app is meant to be closed while the activity happens.

10.Staff and vetting§

Staff accounts are approved by the organization, which knows its own people and carries the legal duty to vet them under local rules for working with minors.

1. 10.1FND does not perform background checks and does not present itself as a vetting service.
2. 10.2The cabinet shows a director exactly who has staff powers, and access is withdrawn in one action.

11.What a parent can ask for§

A parent or guardian may ask for access to their child's data, its correction, or its deletion.

1. 11.1The request goes to the organization, which holds the relationship and can act on most of it directly in the cabinet.
2. 11.2We assist the organization within two business days, and we answer a parent who writes to us rather than bouncing them.

12.What happens when the session ends§

A camp is temporary, so the data should be too.

1. 12.1Revoking a participant removes their personal data in full cascade.
2. 12.2Safety audit records expire on a 30-day cycle.
3. 12.3At the end of a term, the organization's world is deleted after the period at /retention, unless the organization asks us to keep it for the next season.

13.Questions from parents§

A parent who wants a straight answer can write to us directly at privacy@findndo.app. We answer in the language of the message, within one business day. Concerns about how a specific organization runs its world belong with that organization, and we will say so plainly rather than pretend to arbitrate.
